FRUITY COUSCOUS DELIGHT: A SWEET TWIST FOR ANY MEAL

A delightful breakfast, a great snack, or even a light dinner, this sweet couscous turned out to be a wonderful surprise for me. While I had previously tried it in its savory version, paired with various herbs and vegetables, that version didn’t leave a lasting impression. But this sweet rendition, I simply loved! So today, I’ve decided to share this idea and recipe with you.

The recipe is incredibly simple, and the preparation time is remarkably short. In other words, it feels like a playful adventure full of flavors, where your imagination can run wild to create all sorts of delicious combinations.

Here are the ingredients I chose:

  • 1 cup of couscous

  • Strawberries

  • Redcurrants

  • Blueberries

  • A few fresh basil leaves

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Balsamic glaze

  • A bit of maple syrup or a few drops of fruit vinegar (like raspberry or fig)

PREPARATION METHOD:

In a bowl, pour the desired amount of couscous and cover it with boiling water. Place a lid on the bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes. After this time, use a fork to gently fluff the couscous, which will have absorbed the water and almost doubled in size. Season it to taste with finely chopped basil, a few drops of extra virgin olive oil, balsamic glaze, fruit vinegar, or a little maple syrup. Then, mix in the fresh fruits and serve with joy. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Depending on the fruits in season, you can try different flavor combinations, and in winter, you can even use dried fruits.
