Some days seem made for small, simple things that have the power to add a special touch to life’s charm. Today is one of those days—where the aromas are so delightful, they could bring a smile to even the gloomiest of faces.


That’s exactly how I’d describe today’s little treats: fig, prosciutto, and mint bruschetta. The ultimate proof of simplicity, bruschetta can be prepared in countless ways, but the ones we’re savoring today are undeniably special. They bring together a delightful combination of flavors and textures, creating an indulgence that lingers on your taste buds long after the last bite.


The recipe is incredibly simple, and its true secret lies in using fresh, high-quality ingredients:


  • Start by drizzling slices of bread with fragrant olive oil and toasting them in the oven until they’re golden and crispy.

  • Once ready, rub them lightly with a clove of garlic, adding subtle notes that perfectly complement the prosciutto that will go on top.

  • Lay fresh, ripe figs—quartered—over the prosciutto.

  • Sprinkle with fresh mint leaves, and for a final touch, add a drizzle of honey, just enough to balance all the flavors.

I must confess: after tasting these bruschetta for the first time, I fell in love with their incredible taste. Now, every year, I eagerly await fig season just so I can prepare them again.
